Orange County, Florida residents who enjoy mellowing out over a cup of tea with friends or family have lots of options. Orlando and its immediate surroundings have a considerable supply of charming, quality teahouses and tea rooms.
Below we’ve listed 10 of our favorites local spots for tea. Between them, they offer experiences that run the gamut from completely casual to formal high teas. Regardless of where they fall on that spectrum, though, they all share a noteworthy selection of loose leaf teas properly prepared, as well as quality light lunches and/or noshes.
Apothecology Urban Spa & Market – Winter Park, FL
This tea room is one of the Orlando metro area’s better kept secrets, tucked away in the Apothecology Spa in the historic Hannibal Square section of downtown Winter Park. This is a recommended place to sip a cup of an artisinal tea blend as part of a peaceful day of pampering.
Dandelion Communitea Cafe – Orlando, FL
A cozy community gathering place emphasizing locavorism and natural eating and drinking, Dandelion is just off Colonial Avenue in Orlando’s Mills50 District. Choose from numerous organic teas and herbal tisanes, along with a sizable menu of healthy, organic vegan food.
Erika’s Tea Room & Gifts – Clermont, FL
Clermont is about 20 minutes due west of Winter Garden and approximately half an hour from the Windermere and Dr. Phillips area. Erika’s Tea Room is a delightful teahouse, restaurant, gift shop, and special events venue there. Stop in when you’re out this way.
Garden View Tea Room – Orlando, FL
Enjoy an English-inspired afternoon tea in a charming upscale environment. Garden View is inside Disney’s stunning Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. It offers teas from all over the world; Mrs. Potts Tea for children; and scones, sandwiches, pastries, and other traditional tea accompaniments.
Infusion Tea – Orlando, FL
Orlando’s College Park neighborhood is about 12 miles east of Winter Garden. There you’ll find an exceptional loose leaf tea selection at Infusion, one of the city’s most popular teahouses. It’s also just a few blocks from Downtown Credo, one of our favorite local coffee shops.
KrungThep Tea Time – Winter Park, FL
Named for the Thai word for the country’s capital city Bangkok, this Winter Park tea room has a large selection of intriguing teas, all lovingly prepared and offered hot or iced. The delicious, creative sandwiches and desserts here are not to be missed, either.
The Lemon Lily Tea Room & Bakery – Oviedo, FL
If you find yourself in Oviedo, a city about 10 minutes north of the UCF and Waterford Lakes area of East Orlando, this is a great place to visit for a cup of tea. There’s a big selection, plus tasty lunch items and baked goods, and a number of offerings for the kids.
Pom Pom’s Teahouse & Sandwicheria – Orlando, FL
The Milk District, a neighborhood just east of downtown Orlando, has an eclectic mix of independent businesses. Pom Pom’s is one of the most beloved, offering a fantastic tea selection. However, the standout sandwiches are just as compelling a reason to patronize this establishment.
Tea and Tea – Winter Park, FL
Winter Park isn’t short on tea rooms, and this is another recommended one. Tea and Tea, located in Winter Park Village, serves almost 100 varieties of loose leaf teas in traditional and blended styles, hot or iced. Sandwiches and plenty of excellent baked temptations are also available.
The Tea Room – Orlando, FL
Find this cozy modern tea room in the Eola South/Thornton Park neighborhood of east downtown Orlando. It offers a British-inspired tea experience, with an emphasis on including kids. Have a cupcake while you’re here (though there are other options if those aren’t your, well, cup of tea).
