For residents of Dr. Phillips, Windermere, and Winter Garden, amazing coffee shops abound. Take a look at 10 of our favorites in the area. And, because we’re big advocates of supporting local small businesses, we stuck to places that aren’t Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, or other popular chains that serve coffee. If that’s what you want, there’s certainly no shortage of those everywhere, too.

But we definitely encourage you to try as many of these coffee shops as you can!

Achilles Art Cafe – Orlando, FL

Here’s a great coffee shop option if you’re in the Metrowest section of west Orlando. A European vibe  and exhibited works by local artists add ambiance while you enjoy the rich coffee from Golden Hills, an area micro coffee roastery. Fresh house-made sandwiches and other assorted foods are available, as are teas, smoothies, beer, wine, and more.

Axum Coffee – Winter Garden, FL

This is the go-to coffee shop in Winter Garden, serving some of the best coffee and espresso beverages in Central Florida. Sip your beverage right at its roastery inside Plant Street Market, or stop into the storefront location a few blocks away on the city’s main downtown strip. There’s also a location inside Florida Hospital Winter Garden.

Bikes, Beans & Bordeaux – Orlando, FL

Find this gem of a cafe in Orlando’s Audubon Park neighborhood just north of dowtown. This establishment serves a large menu of vegetarian and vegan fare, beer, and wine in addition to traditional coffee shop offerings. There’s an emphasis on eco-friendly products and practices here, and there are frequently special events hosted on site.

Downtown Credo – Orlando, FL

Pay what you want at this 501(c)(3) nonprofit coffee shop. The stellar coffee is responsibly sourced and proceeds are donated to a variety of worthy charitable causes.The organization also drives community service campaigns and supports local artists. As of this writing, there are three locations: the original in Orlando’s College Park neighborhood, one at Florida Hospital Health Village just north of downtown, and one in downtown Orlando’s Central Business District.

This relatively new addition to the Orlando metro area has quickly earned a loyal following. This Winter Park roastery and coffee shop responsibly sources the highest quality fair trade beans from prime growing regions in South and Central America and East Africa. And you can definitely taste the difference their craft roasting process makes.

House Blend Cafe – Ocoee, FL

Just a few miles east on State Road 50 from Winter Garden and 4.5 miles straight up from Windermere, this is a great coffee stop in Ocoee. There’s a fairly big selection of breakfast foods, paninis, and more to go along with the tasty coffee, espresso, and other beverages. This is another charitable place to spend your money, as it donates all its net profits to worthy local and global causes.

Java Lava – Orlando, FL

When you’re in downtown Orlando’s Central Business District or exploring Lake Eola Park, this is an excellent choice to fuel up and grab a fantastic lunch. The coffee and espresso drinks are all top quality, and the smoothies are delicious. If your office is in the area and needs catering for a meeting or special event, this is an option worth investigating.

At the north end of the Dr. Phillips neighborhood and just a few minutes east of Windermere, this cafe is a recommended destination for great coffee and French cuisine. As natives of France, the owners serve up authentic French-style breakfast and lunch foods, crepes, and baked goods. This hidden gem is easy to overlook if you don’t know about it—but now you do!

This is one of Central Florida’s premier coffee roasters. One sip and you can tell they’re serious about their craft. You’ll find this amazing coffee inside East End Market, an artisanal food hall and marketplace in the Audubon Park neighborhood of Orlando. East End Market itself is a worthwhile destination, with numerous sustainability-minded eateries, vendors, and shops.

Here’s where you get your coffee fix if you’re shopping at Waterford Lakes Town Center or are out by the University of Central Florida campus in East Orlando. This coffee shop not only prepares some of the finest caffeinated (or decaf) beverages in the region, their business practices also emphasize environmental and social responsibility.
